hii, my name is andrea but u can also call me andi. i'm a 22 year old girl from brooklyn, nyc & i loveee to write.
i mainly created this web to host all of my more casual writing. but after exploring and stalking so many different webs here on neocities i realized this could be a place for all of my creative endeavors, not just my writing & poetry.
the original name of this site was "earth's molten core" (i'm still debating if i should switch back), it's a tag i've used for a lot of accounts, & it's always felt very true to who i am as a person. it came to me after listening to the song "possibly maybe" by björk

i have a lot of ideas for this web. i want it to be a space where i can express myself freely but also a space where i can connect with people outside of my day to day life.
one thing you should know about me is that i'm a girl with a lot of ambitions and interests, so i'll be using this site to showcase and explore my many creative endeavors as well, as my failures because i'm just vulnerable like that (trying to be).

my most embarassing story
when i was 11 years old i went to saratoga park with my sisters, this was a common thing we did almost every weekend.
i was doing my normal routine on the baby swings #brooklyngirlsmakedo, when out of the corner of my eye i see a woman who worked at the elementary school i had just graduated from a few months ago.
i think now is a good time for me to mention that at 11 i was fully aware of the fact that i liked other girls, more than just being #bffs. & at this age i was obsessed with impressing older women.
in my prepubescent brain i decided, in order for her to notice me i have to be the person swinging the highest. now, i am no rookie when it comes to swinging, it takes some serious skill to swing carefully while gaining air in a baby swing. & before this all went down i would've considered myself one of the vets on my block.
i placed a firmer grip on the chains of the swing and rocked my legs back & forth until i caught enough air.
too much air...
i flew out of the swing and was falling face first towards the rubber padding of the swing area, in an attempt to protect my face & my disgnity, i put my haands out in front of me.
i hit the ground with my face mushed into my hands & an ego so bruised i was ready to make it everyone's problem.
& as if the entire park wintessing my epic wipeout wasn't enough--
i fractured my right thumb or tore something in it when i fell, i'm not quite sure what broke or tore specfically, becasue when i got home & told my parents what happened my dad instructed me to make a fist, i made a really crappy fist that hurt like hell but he deemed i was ok enough and didn't need to see a doctor.
now my right thumb is wonky, it bends but only in a straight line, that knuckle part closer to my nail bed doesn't bend at all. luckily it doesn't prevent me from doing much of anything.
my nicknames
andrea is a very nickname-able name. & both my middle name and last name could be first names so i've been called many different things throughout my life. it's hard to keep track but these are my most memorable and fond.
